MagBoard is Better than Cork (and now Dry-Erase!)

Our MagBoard® is a whole lot better than cork board. The beautiful metal surface strongly attracts any magnet. No sharp pins and tacks to get pricked by so it’s great for kid’s rooms. And no poking holes into documents. Why ruin your little child’s prized drawing or that important Sales Chart with unsightly thumb tack holes when you can use magnets to hang it instead? MagBoard® can serve a variety of purposes; use as a personal organizer, use for presentations, use as a bulletin board, and even as a teaching aid. It can be mounted on the wall, placed on an easel, or just propped up against the wall (if attached to rigid backing first). And now, MagBoard® also works with both Dry-Erase Markers and Wet-Erase Markers. The product is easy to clean and needs minimal maintenance. MagBoard® is crafted from real commercial grade metals. Use our Galvanized Steel or Brushed Stainless Steel as a great modern & sleek accent to any contemporary space or use one of our great colors to add warmth to any room. MagBoard® is very low profile - it only protrudes 1/32" from the wall so no framing is needed. Perfect for the kitchen, office, kid’s room and more.

What's my shipping cost?

2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x6, 3x4 and 4x4 sizes ship via FedEx Ground (most economical). All larger sizes ship on a pallet via Motor Freight (starting at $120+). To save on shipping, consider using smaller panels and tiling them together on the wall to create a larger panel. To get your actual shipping cost, add the item to your cart.

Can I get a custom size?

Yes, we can make any custom size you would like! Just click on the FAQ link that your pointer is currently hovering on, and you'll automatically be taken down to the "Custom Size Ordering Section" on this webpage.

How do I cut it?

This product can be cut with a jig saw, circular saw or radial saw. Use a blade designed to cut sheet metal (a fine tooth blade). For cutting stainless steel or for cutting larger quantities, consider using a carbide-tipped fine tooth blade.

Will the screw heads match the color of the MagBoard®?

We sell optional screw caps that will match your MagBoard® color.

How do I attach fabric, wallpaper, or graphics to the MagBoard®?

Attaching on your own fabric, wallpaper or graphic onto the MagBoard® is a great way to customize it’s appearance: 1. Use a spray adhesive to attach your material to the MagBoard®. There are many types of spray adhesives, such as 3M brand. Consult your local fabric store, craft store or hardware store for the best spray adhesive recommended for the material you are attaching. 2. Try to use the thinnest material you can. The thicker the material, the more the magnetic holding strength will be reduced. Generally speaking most people don’t notice much of a magnetic strength reduction with typical thin materials. 3. To mount onto your wall, either poke the mounting screws thru the material and use the mounting holes of the MagBoard® OR attach the MagBoard® to the wall using a construction adhesive (like Liquid Nails brand).

Is the panel itself magnetized?

MagBoard® is not a magnet itself. It is a surface onto which magnets will stick.

How do I put a frame around it?

Screw the MagBoard® to your wall as you would normally. Find a wood molding that you like – such as corner round, chair rail, etc - typically found at your local hardware store. Miter cut the molding to size. Nail the molding to the wall so it covers the edge of the MagBoard®. When done, you will have a beautifully framed surface for holding magnets.

Can I get it without mounting holes?

Yes, of course. Please place your order by phone at 1.888.983.4327 (98.DGEAR) and request your MagBoard® without mounting holes. You may also request to eliminate the rounded corners and have square corners instead.

Can I get it with square corners?

Yes, of course. Please place your order by phone at 1.888.983.4327 (98.DGEAR) and request your MagBoard® with square corners. You may also request to omit the mounting holes as well.

Do I need to screw into studs?

You do NOT need to screw your MagBoard® into studs. The product is relatively lightweight and is engineered to be directly screwed into dry wall. We provide mounting holes approximately every 12" around the periphery of the board. Use the screws that are included to attach to your wall - no anchors or studs needed.

What's the difference between Wet-Erase and Dry-Erase?

The difference lies in the type of ink used in the markers. Wet-Erase markers will work on all of our MagBoards, even on the MagBoard® type called "Dry-Erase". Wet-Erase markers can be wiped away with a damp cloth. Dry-Erase markers will only work on the type of MagBoard® which is called "Dry-Erase". Dry-Erase markers can only be wiped away with a special dry-erase Eraser.

Can it be propped up against a wall?

As it comes in the box, it needs to be mounted to a wall because the product has some flex. To prop it up against a wall, first mount it to a rigid material such as foam board or thin plywood. For a cleaner appearance, you can order your MagBoard® without mounting holes by placing your order by phone 1.888.98DGEAR (983.4327) EST.
