Do I Need a Backing Board?

If you have ever used traditional wood pegboard (aka hardboard, pressed wood, pressboard, etc), you may have noticed that when you insert a peg hook into the pegboard, the hook has a bit of a “press fit” and once in place it has no wobble. A metal pegboard is a bit different. In a metal pegboard, the hook goes into the pegboard very easily without any resistance. Once the hook is in place, it may have a slight wobble. This wobble does not bother most people but does bother some. By adding a BackingBoard to your metal pegboard, it will give your metal pegboard the same feel as a traditional wood pegboard – hooks will have a press fit during insertion. And the hooks will not wobble once in place. The Backing Board is installed at the factory onto the backside of the pegboard so you will never see it after installation.
