What is Steel Diamond Plate?
Our steel diamond plate is absolutely, authentic, real commercial grade steel diamond plate. The same metal found in heavy duty industrial applications.
Is Steel Diamond Plate Slippery?
Not at all. In fact it's quite the opposite. Diamond plate was originally created back in the 60s for tread purposes and therefore was originally called 'tread plate'. Take a look around and you may notice steel diamond plate on walkways, fire escapes, and mezzanines. This is to give the people the best possible traction when the surfaces are wet or icy. The diamonds provide extra surface area for shoes to grab onto. You may be surprised when you walk across our diamond plate and find how much traction you feel, even with high heels.
Can I Use Steel Diamond Plate Outdoors?
Absolutely. The material is supplied mill-finish and is meant to be finished in the field. Unfinished material is susceptible to corrosion.

48" X 96" Sizes Ship Flat on Pallet via Motor Freight
Shipping via Motor Freight means your order will ship on a pallet (aka skid) on an 18 wheeler truck via a motor freight company such as Yellow Motor Freight, R&L Transfer, etc. Motor Freight companies are only required to bring your freight to a street address and it is the recipient's responsibility to off-load the pallet from the truck. If you are not familiar with this type of delivery or are not comfortable with this, please call us for help prior to placing your order or consider using smaller size product that can ship in cartons via small parcel (ie FedEx or UPS). If you do not have a shipping dock nor a means to remove a pallet from a truck, then please request a "Lift Gate" in the Shipping Calculator section during Check Out (surcharge will apply). A Lift Gate will lower the pallet from the truck down to street level at which point the recipient takes ownership. It does not provide delivery onto a driveway or inside a building or home.
